Mānuka oil is the essential oil extracted from the leaf and twig of the Mānuka plant using a steam distillation process. The essential oil has rare very strong Gram positive antimicrobial properties that correlate to the levels of ß-triketone compounds that can be found in the oil.
Mānuka oil is filled with potent triketones, flavonoids, and other chemical compounds which give the substance powerful antibacterial and antifungal properties. Flavesone, Leptospermone, Isoleptospermone & Grandiflorone; and are collectively known as Mānuka oil ßeta-Triketones (MβTK™). Our Mānuka Oil has very high MβTK™ levels above 25%.
